2007 Winderlea Estate Reserve Pinot Noir

Our first Estate Reserve was created from a range of the blocks in our estate vineyard including older Dijon clones (114,667,777) and Pommard. Using a combination of our new 2.5 ton Taransaud wood and stainless steel fermenters fermentation time averaged 5 days. Wine was allowed to remain on the skins for an additional 8 to 10 days and were then barrel aged for 9 months in a selection of Francois Freres, Billon, Alliers, Bertranges and Cadus medium plus toast barrels (about 30% new). The Estate Reserve shows a deep garnet color, ripe black fruit, deep cherry, nuanced layers of fruit and earth and an elegant finish. The Estate Reserve will benefit from 1-2 years of bottle age with a minimum of 8-12 years aging potential. 290 cases produced.
